About this home

Six friends, one private flat, the city on your doorstep

This Queen Street option gives six students their own flat inside Bayt’s larger Grade II listed building. Your group has six bedrooms, two bathrooms and its own kitchen-living space, while sharing only the building entrance, courtyard and bike-storage areas with the neighbouring flats.

Each bedroom has a small double bed, bedside table, chest of drawers, double wardrobe, mirror, desk and chair, bookshelf, pinboard and TV point. The kitchen is set up for the full group with two large fridge-freezers, a washer-dryer, microwave, dishwasher and oven and hob. A communal television and seating make the shared space useful for meals, films and evenings in.

A location that saves time every day

Queen Street puts the group between Aldi and Tesco, with Snap Fitness beside Tesco and Sainsbury’s Local also nearby. Common Garden Street, the stop close to Tesco and the South Road stops give you several choices for Lancaster University travel rather than one fixed route.

The direct 1/1A runs approximately every ten minutes, and other campus services increase the number of daytime departures. Secure internal bike storage is useful for anyone cycling to Bailrigg or around the city.

The centre is close enough for shops, cafés, takeaways and nights out without paying for a taxi home. The rear courtyard gives the flat a place for barbecues and outdoor social time that many central apartments do not have.

Rent and bills

The rent is £139 per person per week, bills included. Bayt confirms the included utilities, broadband and fair-use allowance in writing before the tenancy is signed.

Book the flat as a group

Choose a viewing slot through the form and include all six names when the group is ready to proceed. Bayt will confirm the viewing and next steps by email or WhatsApp.

Questions students ask before booking

Quick answers for groups comparing location, bills, safety checks and viewing next steps.

How much does the six-bedroom Queen Street flat cost?

£139 per person per week, bills included, for 2026/27 — from our own property records. Across six tenants that is £834 a week for the whole Queen Street flat. That is the published 2026/27 rate — we have not set the 2027/28 figure yet, and we confirm it in writing before anyone signs.

What do the included bills cover at the six-bedroom Queen Street flat?

Gas, electricity, water and unlimited fibre broadband — that is the package on the six-bedroom Queen Street flat’s own published listing for 2026/27. If your group needs something specific, such as a faster broadband tier, put it to us in writing before signing.

How long is the walk from Queen Street to the University of Cumbria?

12 minutes on foot from the six-bedroom Queen Street flat to the University of Cumbria’s Lancaster campus on Bowerham Road, LA1 3JD — our own route timing.

Does the six-bedroom Queen Street flat work for Lancaster University students?

Lancaster University’s Bailrigg campus is three miles from the city centre — around 20 minutes by bike, with at least 14 buses an hour during term-time daytimes, on the university’s own published figures. The six-bedroom Queen Street flat sits in the city core those buses leave from.

How do six students book one flat together?

One lead tenant coordinating is what works: gather all six names, book a single viewing of the six-bedroom Queen Street flat, and sign together as one joint tenancy rather than in fragments. We walk lead tenants through it on 01524 888 151 or WhatsApp, and our parents and guarantors guide covers what co-signers are asked for. Eight of our eleven whole-home listings have six or more bedrooms, and they let as whole houses.

Is 2 bathrooms enough for 6 people?

2 bathrooms across 6 bedrooms is one bathroom between 3 of you at the six-bedroom Queen Street flat — that is the honest arithmetic, not a brochure line. Agree a morning rota before you sign, not after — with numbers like these it is a scheduling question, not a plumbing one.

Is there secure bike storage at the six-bedroom Queen Street flat?

Secure internal bike storage is on the six-bedroom Queen Street flat’s own listing — relevant because Bailrigg is about a 20-minute ride from the city centre on Lancaster University’s own figures.

Can we view the six-bed without travelling to Lancaster?

A video tour is linked on the six-bedroom Queen Street flat’s own listing, so a scattered group can walk through before anyone books a train. In-person viewings run through the form on this page or on 01524 888 151.
